Piloting a boat on your own, with no particular route can be a lot of fun. Just make sure you know what you're getting into.

Considerations for renting[edit | edit source]

You'll need to have a Safe Boating Certificate, or take a test for a Temporary Boating Certificate, assuming your marina of choice is able to issue them.

How long and what kind of boat you want of course will vary, but here are some general recommendations for size and type.

Bowriders[edit | edit source]

Best for if you really want to explore the lake, and/or do watersports, like skiing, wakeboarding, or tubing

Pontoon[edit | edit source]

These are best for if you want to fish, swim, and/or have motion sensitive or otherwise boating-adverse people in your group.
